Daily Devotion from the Bible!

After God miraculously delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, parting the Red Sea to save them from Pharaoh’s army, Moses and the Israelites responded with this song of praise. The Exodus story marked the climax of God’s power and faithfulness, rescuing His people from oppression and destruction. This song in Exodus 15 is often called the “Song of Moses,” and it reflects a moment of awe and gratitude as the people celebrated their salvation.

Moses and the Israelites sang this song to exalt God for His might and grace. He delivered them from their enemies and demonstrated His unwavering commitment to His covenant people. The sea that was a threat to their freedom became the means of their deliverance, and their natural response was praise and thanksgiving.

Imagine facing an impossible situation—like being trapped with no way out—and then seeing God miraculously deliver you. The Israelites, trapped between the Red Sea and the approaching Egyptian army, experienced the overwhelming relief of seeing God intervene. Their story reminds us that no obstacle is too great for God to handle, and He remains our strength and salvation today.

How can you praise God for the victories He has given you? Do you rely on His strength in moments of fear and uncertainty?
