From our childhood days to our time in school, seminary, and our mission adventures in Manipur and Mumbai, we shared countless moments of laughter, joy, and camaraderie. Your gentle and humble spirit touched the hearts of all who knew you, and your absence is deeply felt by family and friends alike.

While the thought of not having you by our side brings tears to our eyes, we find solace in knowing that you have been called home to be with the Lord. Your tireless dedication to serving Him in His vineyard is a testament to your unwavering faith and commitment.

Your legacy as a cross-cultural missionary will continue to inspire generations to come. Your selfless efforts and dedication to spreading the love of Christ will never be forgotten, and your reward in heaven will be great.

Jesus Resurrected for Our Justification!

Scripture: Romans 4:25
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

The essence of Easter lies in the profound truth encapsulated in Romans 4:25—a truth that speaks of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and the victory He secured through His resurrection. As we reflect on this verse, we are reminded of the incredible love of God demonstrated through the sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection of His Son.

The first part of the verse declares that Jesus was “delivered over to death for our sins.” This speaks to the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, where He bore the weight of our sins and endured the punishment that we deserved. His death was not a tragic end but a deliberate act of love, fulfilling the divine plan of redemption established before the foundation of the world.

Yet, the story does not end at the cross. The second part of the verse proclaims that Jesus “was raised to life for our justification.” The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate validation of His victory over sin and death. Through His resurrection, Jesus conquered the grave and secured our justification—our right standing before God. His resurrection is the assurance of our salvation and the guarantee of our eternal inheritance.

As we celebrate Easter, let us ponder the significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Let us remember that His sacrifice was not in vain but accomplished the redemption of humanity. Let us rejoice in the victory of Easter, knowing that through Jesus’ resurrection, we have been made righteous in the sight of God.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the incredible gift of salvation made possible through the death and resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ. As we celebrate Easter, help us to grasp the depth of your love and the magnitude of Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. May we live in the reality of our justification, confident in the victory secured for us through His resurrection. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

The story of Abraham’s faith is a remarkable testament to the power of unwavering hope in God’s promises. In Romans 4:18-20, the apostle Paul highlights Abraham’s extraordinary faith journey—a journey marked by perseverance, trust, and an unyielding hope in the faithfulness of God.

Abraham’s circumstances seemed hopeless. He and his wife Sarah were well past the age of childbearing, yet God had promised them descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. Despite the impossibility of the situation, Abraham chose to believe in God’s promise. Against all odds, he clung to hope and embraced the assurance of things unseen.

Paul emphasizes that Abraham’s faith did not waver, even when faced with the harsh reality of his own limitations. Instead of succumbing to doubt or despair, Abraham remained steadfast in his trust in God. He chose to focus on the faithfulness of God rather than the seemingly insurmountable obstacles before him.

Abraham’s unwavering faith serves as an inspiration to us today. Like him, we may encounter situations that appear hopeless and insurmountable. Yet, in those moments, we are called to follow Abraham’s example—to anchor our hope in the promises of God and to trust in His faithfulness.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the example of Abraham, whose unwavering faith inspires us to trust in your promises. Help us to hold fast to hope, even in the face of adversity and doubt. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and teach us to rely on your unfailing love and faithfulness. Scripture: Romans 4:1-3

In Romans 4:1-3, the apostle Paul turns our attention to the example of Abraham, the father of the faith. Abraham’s story serves as a powerful illustration of the principle of justification by faith—a truth that transcends time and culture.

Abraham, like all of us, was a flawed individual who fell short of God’s perfect standard. Yet, his righteousness was not attained through his own efforts or good works. Instead, it came through his unwavering faith in God’s promises. When God called Abraham to leave his homeland and embark on a journey to an unknown destination, Abraham believed and obeyed. And it was this faith that was credited to him as righteousness.

Paul emphasizes that if Abraham had been justified by his works, he would have had reason to boast. But true righteousness comes not from our achievements or merits but from trusting in the promises of God. Abraham’s faith was not a passive belief but an active trust that led him to step out in obedience to God’s call.

Similarly, we are called to trust in God’s promises and rely on His grace for our salvation. Like Abraham, we are justified not by our own efforts but by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. Our faith in Christ is the key that unlocks the door to righteousness and reconciliation with God.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the example of Abraham, who demonstrated unwavering faith in your promises. Scripture: Romans 3:21-24

In Romans 3:21-24, the apostle Paul unfolds the heart of the gospel message—the righteousness of God revealed apart from the law, made available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. This righteousness is not earned through our own efforts or adherence to religious laws but is freely given by God’s grace.

As human beings, we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. Despite our best intentions, we cannot attain righteousness on our own. Yet, God, in His infinite mercy, offers us the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him, we are justified—declared righteous before God—regardless of our past failures or shortcomings.

The beauty of God’s grace is that it is extended to all people, irrespective of nationality, ethnicity, or social status. There is no distinction between Jew and Gentile; all are invited to partake in the redemption offered through Christ Jesus. This inclusive message reminds us of the universality of God’s love and His desire for reconciliation with every individual.

In response to God’s grace, we are called to embrace faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging Him as our Savior and Lord. It is through this faith that we receive the gift of righteousness and experience true freedom from sin and condemnation.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of salvation offered to us through your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to embrace this gift with humility and gratitude, recognizing our utter dependence on your grace. Scripture: Romans 2:1-4

In our journey of faith, it’s easy to fall into the trap of judgmental attitudes, looking down on others while overlooking our own flaws. However, the apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 2:1-4 that passing judgment on others only serves to condemn ourselves. He urges us to embrace compassion and humility, recognizing that we are all recipients of God’s grace.

True spiritual growth begins with self-reflection and repentance. When we acknowledge our own shortcomings and vulnerabilities, we cultivate a heart of compassion towards others. Instead of criticizing or condemning, we extend grace and understanding, knowing that we too are in need of forgiveness.

God’s kindness towards us is not meant to be hoarded but shared generously with those around us. As we experience the depth of His mercy and patience, we are called to reflect His character in our interactions with others. Scripture: Romans 1:18-20

Devotional: In Romans 1:18-20, the apostle Paul lays bare a fundamental truth about God’s character and existence. He reveals that God’s wrath is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. In a world marred by sin, God’s righteousness demands justice, but His mercy offers redemption.

As we look around us, we see the undeniable evidence of God’s existence. From the intricacies of nature to the depths of the human soul, His fingerprints are everywhere. Despite the attempts of some to suppress this truth, God’s eternal power and divine nature are clearly seen, understood through what has been made. Every sunrise, every flower, every breath we take points to the Creator who spoke the world into being.

Creation itself serves as a testimony to God’s power and character. From the vast expanse of the universe to the tiniest microorganisms, every aspect of creation reflects His glory. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.'”

In these verses, the apostle Paul boldly declares his unwavering confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ. He proclaims that the gospel is not merely a message but the very power of God unto salvation for all who believe. Called to Belong!

Scripture: Romans 1:7

In our journey of faith, we find deep significance in belonging to the family of God. Just as Paul addressed the believers in Rome as “called to belong to Jesus Christ,” we too are called to find our identity and purpose in Him.

In this verse, Paul addresses the believers in Rome as those who are loved by God and called to be His holy people. This identity as beloved children of God and members of His family brings with it the assurance of grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called to live out this identity by reflecting the character of Christ in our lives and relationships.

As members of God’s family, we are called to embrace our identity as beloved children of God and live in a manner worthy of our calling. This means extending grace and love to others, pursuing holiness in our lives, and seeking to build up the body of Christ through our words and actions. By living out our identity as God’s holy people, we bear witness to the transforming power of His grace in our lives.

As we reflect on our identity as those loved by God and called to be His holy people, may we find deep assurance in belonging to the family of God. Let us embrace this identity wholeheartedly and live in a manner that honors and glorifies our Heavenly Father. May His grace and peace abound in our lives as we walk in obedience to His will.

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us to belong to Your family and for lavishing Your love upon us. Help us to embrace our identity as Your beloved children and to live in a manner that reflects Your character and grace.
