Love One Another!

Today’s Manna!

The Apostle John, known as the “apostle of love,” wrote this letter to early Christians, emphasizing the importance of love in the life of a believer. During a time when the church was facing false teachings and division, John reminded them that true love originates from God and is a defining characteristic of those who belong to Him.

In fact, this verse calls believers to love one another because love is evidence of a genuine relationship with God. If we are born of God and know Him, His love should naturally flow through us to others. Love is not just a feeling but a reflection of God’s nature within us.

Imagine a lamp connected to a power source. As long as it’s connected, the light shines brightly. In the same way, when we are connected to God, who is love, His light shines through us. Just as the lamp can’t shine without electricity, we can’t truly love others without being connected to God.

How do you reflect God’s love in your relationships? Are there areas in your life where love is lacking? Reflect on how your connection to God can deepen your capacity to love others, even those who are difficult to love.

Today, make an intentional effort to show love to someone in your life. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply listening, let God’s love flow through you to others. Ask God to help you love more like Him each day.

Committing Our Plans to the Lord!

Today’s Manna!

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) implores us, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” In this concise yet powerful verse, we are encouraged to surrender our aspirations, dreams, and endeavors into the hands of the Almighty, trusting Him to guide and establish them according to His perfect will.

The act of committing our plans to the Lord involves more than just a superficial acknowledgment of His sovereignty. It requires a deep-seated trust and reliance on His wisdom and providence. When we willingly submit our plans to God, we acknowledge His authority over every aspect of our lives. We recognize that His plans far surpass our own, and His ways are higher than our ways.

God’s promise to establish our plans is a testament to His faithfulness and goodness. When we entrust our desires to Him, He not only directs our steps but also ensures that our endeavors are aligned with His purposes. Though our paths may be uncertain, we can rest assured that God is at work, orchestrating every detail for our ultimate good and His glory.

As we reflect on Proverbs 16:3, let us consider the posture of our hearts towards God’s guidance. Are we holding tightly to our plans, driven by our own ambitions and desires? Or are we willing to relinquish control, surrendering our plans to the One who knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally?

Similar sentiments are echoed in Psalm 37:5 (NIV), which encourages us to, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.” This parallel passage reinforces the importance of entrusting our lives and plans to God’s care, knowing that He will faithfully fulfill His promises.

Furthermore, Proverbs 19:21 (NIV) declares, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” This verse serves as a sobering reminder that our finite plans pale in comparison to God’s sovereign purposes. It prompts us to humbly yield to His will, knowing that His plans are ultimately for our best.

In conclusion, let us commit our plans to the Lord with unwavering trust and confidence, knowing that He is faithful to establish them according to His perfect will. May we continually seek His guidance and surrender to His leading in every aspect of our lives.

What are some plans or goals you are currently pursuing? Have you surrendered them to God, or are you holding tightly to them? How can you cultivate a habit of seeking God’s guidance and wisdom in your decision-making process? Are there areas in your life where you struggle to trust God with your plans? How can you deepen your reliance on His faithfulness and sovereignty?
